"What may be regarded as the First Edition of the present work was issued privately by the author, as a pamphlet, in 1906, from Los Angeles, California, under the title: "Illogical Geology, the Weakest Point in the Evolution Theory." A revised Second Edition was issued in cloth, in 1913, under the title, "The Fundamentals of Geology." This edition was soon exhausted; but the World War came on, and it was impossible for the author to give attention to a much-needed revision; hence the Third Edition was issued with no revision. Thus the present volume may be regarded as really a Fourth Edition of the book just mentioned." - from the Preface, 1926.
